The word Kamloops comes from the Secwepenc word Tk'emlúps, meaning "where the rivers meet" and refers to the convergence of the North and South Thompson rivers. There are many Secwepenc education resources in Kamloops, including guided snowshoe tours, the Kweseltken Farmers' and Artisan Market, and the Secwepemc Museum & Heritage Park.
