Prestige Hotels & Resorts is looking for a full-time Social Media Coordinator and Graphic Designer to join our corporate office team.  We are a family-owned and operated hotel and resort chain with 15 locations across B.C. We strive to be forward-thinking and progressive in our marketing efforts, and we’re looking for a dynamic marketing and design professional to help take our brand to the next level.

 

Reporting to the Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, the Social Media Coordinator and Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing visual communications including hotel advertisements (print and digital), e-marketing, and collateral materials. This position will also curate and post all content for Prestige’s various social media channels.  This role is also responsible for website and collateral copywriting, and other creative and strategic responsibilities as needed.

The Social Media Coordinator and Graphic Designer must be a creative, passionate, and professional with a great ‘can-do’ attitude.  Excellent judgment, strong organizational and planning skills with a drive for top level results is vital.  The candidate must be able to work independently and as a member of the team.  This is a full-time role based in downtown Kelowna, BC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, execute and/or coordinate the design and development of various marketing elements.
  • Use InDesign and/or Photoshop programs to develop Prestige-branded marketing pieces and materials.
  • Create engaging content for Prestige’s social media sites including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linked In.
  • Manage Prestige’s online presence (updating pictures, written content, etc) including company website, online review sites, and various online booking websites.
  • Write and develop blogs, e-newsletters, and other promotional pieces.
  • Assist with the development of promotions, packages and special offers for our hotels.
  • Research and help coordinate earned media opportunities.
  • Other responsibilities as defined by the Executive Director of Sales and Marketing.

 

Required Experience, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in graphic design. Additional education and/or experience in marketing, social media, or communications is an asset.
  • Must be trained in InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Strong organizational skills with a creative flair.
  • Self-starter with the ability to initiate projects and take the lead.
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms and sites.
  • Familiarity with best practices re: social media responses, Trip Advisor reviews, etc
  • Applied skills in word processing, website maintenance and other computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • 1+ years’ hands-on experience, ideally in a dynamic office environment or marketing agency.
  • Must have good communication and writing skills with the ability to craft compelling written content for websites, brochures, social media posts, blogs, and other collateral.
  • Photography or videography skills are an asset.

The salary for this position would be $40,000 - $50,000 and would be dependent on that successful candidate’s experience and education, and would include a full benefit package.

  • Process wake-up calls
  • Balance the daily transactions to Property Management System

Reporting directly to the CFO, the right candidate requires strong organizational and technical skills to manage the day-to-day accounting activities. 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the appropriate approval of invoices and accurate coding, entry and payment of vendor invoices, and employee expenses;
  • Preparation of cheques for approval;
  • General administrative duties, including filing of invoices and payments;
  • Reconciliation of petty cash, bank accounts and credit card statements;
  • Preparation of semi-monthly payroll in Ceridian Dayforce and ensuring the authorization, completeness and accuracy of employee hours, including any changes, overtime, taxable benefits and deductions in accordance with company policies and procedures and legislative requirements;
  • Journal entry creation and data entry into Simply Accounting
  • Responding to queries from internal staff members and management in a timely and professional manner;
  • Supporting the accounting team and various internal clients as directed;

Qualifications:

  • Experience in full cycle accounts payable and payroll processing;
  • Experience with Simply Accounting or similar software preferred
  • Experience with payroll software preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Outstanding attention to detail and meeting deadlines;
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills;
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
