Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Duties

Catering and Sales Manager

Prestige Treasure Cove Hotel Prince George


The largest city in Northern BC, Prince George is the perfect balance of urban life and stunning wilderness. This 85-room hotel is being expanded to allow for BIG things including an additional tower of guestrooms, more meeting spaces, an athletic club, a grand foyer lounge, an arcade, patio gardens, and a grand penthouse!

This dynamic role blends a keen sales aptitude with strong coordination and administrative skill set to ensure the successful execution of onsite banquets and events. Reporting to the General Manager, the Catering and Sales Manager will work closely with the resort management team as well as the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Sales team to drive revenues at this spectacular location.

Primary responsibilities are:

  • Sell event space, guest rooms and/or food, beverage, and services
  • Routine proactive sales efforts to achieve annual targets for catering and guest room revenues
  • Meet with clients, discusses requirements such as deadlines, number of guests, occasion, and explain services offered (e.g., room capacity, decorations, menu, other venue options)
    • Make recommendations and host client site visits
  • Create cost estimates, prepare contracts and banquet event orders, and obtain client signatures and deposits
  • Communication of event details to other resort departments
  • Personal attention to events as required
  • Attendance at the Annual Prestige Hotels & Resorts Catering & Sales Managers Meeting
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Sales team

Aptitudes required for this position include:

Excellent customer service, friendly and positive communication, keen attention to detail, the ability to take action to solve problems quickly, and flexibility to complete duties as assigned

Qualifications required for this position are:

  • Previous Catering Sales or Banquet Sales experience
  • Strong Food & Beverage background
  • Previous Hotel or Resort experience
  • Working knowledge of sales management software such as Caterease or similar and MS Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Works well under pressure, and able to meet deadlines in a calm manner and work on multiple projects simultaneously

Prestige Rocky Mountain Resort Cranbrook is hiring a Maintenance Attendant to maintain and fix amenities of guest rooms and common spaces of the hotel.

This is a part time or full time position that offers a flexible schedule dependent on abilities.

Duties:

  • Maintain and improve upon hotel guest rooms and additional public areas by performing routine maintenance jobs and repairs;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pool and hot tub mechanical issues.
  • Perform hotel room repair activities. (I.e. handrails, walls, doors, flooring etc.)
  • Perform heavy lifting (i.e. move heavy furniture, remove scrap and debris)
  • Perform painting, snow removal, and light landscaping
  • Maintain positive communication with the hotel General Manager to ensure that tasks are completed
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure friendly professional interactions with hotel guests.

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance or trades experience
  • Previous painting experience
  • A background in electrical and/or plumbing is an asset
  • Must be able to lift medium to heavy loads weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb)

This position reports directly to the CFO. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and technical skills to manage the day-to-day activities of this role including:

  • Maintaining and updating employee information, such as records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements
  • Preparing and verifying statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, garnishments, and insurance and benefit plans
  • Preparing, verifying and processing all employee payroll-related payments, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay
  • Preparing payroll-related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, Records of Employment, and other statements
  • Compiling, reviewing, and monitoring statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts

As a member of the finance team you will also have other duties including:
