Scope of Responsibility

The Office Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for visitors to the corporate office. This role performs administrative support and maintains upkeep of the office. The successful candidate will be energetic, a self-starter, organized and supportive of others.

General Duties:

  • Welcomes visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
  • Maintains safe and clean office area
  • Provides administrative support to the executive team
  • Coordinates travel schedules, and use of company vehicles
  • Prepares and maintains organized documentation
  • Organizes and maintains network files
  • Assists with updating and maintaining company manuals and reference materials under the direction of the HR Coordinator
  • Assists with local errands for purchasing and/or projects
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer

Guest Services Support Duties:

  • Monitors company email correspondence; answering or referring inquiries
  • Issues guest resolution letters as directed by the VP of Sales & Marketing
  • Handles reservations for gift certificate bookings and/or guest resolution letters
  • Handles contra bookings and tracking
  • Prepares gift certificates and tracks their use
  • Conducts research into prospective new clients in a variety of markets including corporate, sports, association and SMERF, and then conducting cold/warm calls and emails to potential new clients in an effort to secure future business
  • Processes all direct billing requests, verifies credit references, and lets clients know how much an account is approved for

Human Resources Duties:

  • Provides administrative support for Recruitment & Selection
  • Referencing, job postings, updating job descriptions
  • Supports the updating of and development of training materials for Prestige Online Training
  • Assists with quarterly Prestige Online Training updates for employee status of completion
  • Updates the Policy and Procedures Manual and other manuals as assigned by the HR Coordinator
  • Assists VP of Organizational Development and HR Coordinator as required

Operations Duties:

  • Supports liquor licensing under the direction of the Operations Administrative Assistant
  • Supports purchasing for Corporate Office and the hotels (under the direction of the Operations Administrative Assistant), which includes:
  • Monitors and organizes inventory of supplies for corporate office and the hotels; orders supplies as required
  • Assists with product and service quote sourcing
  • Tracks bulk supply items for re-billing to locations
  • Assists with invoice review/approval for product and services
  • Assists with local errands for purchasing and/or projects
  • Assists with maintaining and updating lease asset lists

Best Western Cranbrook Hotel is hiring a Maintenance Attendant to maintain and fix amenities of guest rooms and common spaces of both hotel properties.

This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a flexible schedule dependent on abilities.

Duties:

  • Maintain and improve upon hotel guest rooms and additional public areas by performing routine maintenance jobs and repairs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pool and hot tub mechanical issues
  • Perform hotel room repair activities. (i.e., handrails, walls, doors, flooring.)
  • Perform heavy lifting (i.e., move heavy furniture, remove scrap and debris)
  • Perform painting, snow removal, and light landscaping
  • Maintain positive communication with the hotel General Manager to ensure that tasks are completed
  • Ensure friendly professional interactions with hotel guests
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance or trades experience
  • 2 years experience in a maintenance role considered an asset
  • Must have a mechanical mindset with basic plumbing and electrical experience
  • Must be able to lift medium to heavy loads weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb)
  • Previous painting experience
  • BC Driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Open to some evening coverage
  • Pool Operators certificate is an asset

Join the Prestige Vernon Hotel as a permanent, full-time Housekeeping Supervisor and provide a great experience for our guests by ensuring guest rooms and public areas are clean and properly presented.

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a working housekeeper role who assists the General Manager plan, organize, supervise, and motivate to achieve the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel.

Job Duties:

  • Performs guest room housekeeping duties, laundry functions, arrival checks, and cleans public areas and conference areas on a regular basis
  • Trains, onboards, and motivates housekeeping and laundry personnel
  • Collaborates with maintenance staff
  • Assists the General Manager to organize the daily functions and duties of the housekeeping department, including scheduling
  • Provides direction and supervision when the General Manager is absent
  • Inspects quality of linens and advises the General Manager on purchasing requirements
  • Inspects guest rooms and public areas to ensure quality assurance
  • Conducts staff meetings in conjunction with General Manager
  • Monitors and trains with cleaning products to improve efficiencies
  • Maintains and oversees the required process to ensure regular deep cleaning and preventative maintenance

General Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

  • Fluent in the English language (written and verbal)
  • Requires ability to select, train, evaluate, motivate, and discipline, as needed
  • Operates the department within given cost controls
  • Requires the ability to follow and give directions (verbal and written)
  • Requires the ability to work without direct supervision
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Experience:

  • Previous experience in supervising others preferred
  • Previous commercial or housekeeping cleaning experience required
