Golden Sound Festival’s Summer Block Party is Saturday, August 23rd.
Golden Sound Festival’s “Summer Block Party” is happening on Saturday, August 23rd in downtown Golden. The party starts at 8:30 in the morning and lasts well into the night, giving you plenty of time to take in the sights and sounds of the vibrant town centre.
The event, which is organized by the Golden Sound Festival Society (a registered non-profit organization), will take place at a variety of different locations. This year’s participating venues include Rockwater Grill and Bar, The Golden Taps, and Riverhouse Tavern – there is also a free concert in Spirit Square!
One of the things that makes this particular event so great is the assortment of local and national acts attending. Artists include; Bend Sinister, Mayday and the Beatcreeps, Mobina Galore, Devon Coyote, Sam Weber, and many more.
Naturally, one of the big goals of the event organizers is to promote the arts and music, but they also want to help draw attention to the area’s stunning natural beauty and promote tourism in both Golden and Kicking Horse Country. The Golden Sound Festival Society was only established in 2013, but has already hosted a number of excellent festivals in Golden, this weekend’s upcoming offering being the latest.
