Scope of Responsibility:

Reporting to the President, the General Manager is responsible for effectively managing and overseeing all aspects of the hotel operations including: financial performance, revenue management, customers’ enjoyment of accommodation, conferences, review of supply agreements, sales direction, human resources, and property maintenance.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in business administration, hotel management or related field or an acceptable combination of education/training and/or experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a hotel management capacity.
  • Exhibits the highest level of integrity, sound judgment, resourcefulness, management and confidence.
  • Solid financial skills/experience, including revenue management, inventory management, hotel management systems, basic accounting, payroll and reporting.
  • Demonstrates superior written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills.
  • Skillful in managing high tension situations with diplomacy, tact and patience.
  • Excellent investigative, problem-solving and strategic skills.
  • Flexible and able to respond to unique and complicated situations.
  • Proven leadership skills that exemplify effective interaction with employees in order to assess performance and assign duties.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary of $75,000-$85,000 annually based on experience along with a full benefits package including Extended Health and Dental Coverage.

Assistant General Manager

Prestige Vernon Lodge


The Assistant General Manager represents the Prestige Vernon Lodge through excellence in guest service. Together with the General Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the hotel team in both housekeeping and front desk.

 

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hotel experience required, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Post-Secondary Education in Hotel or Business management considered an asset
  • Strong leadership skills
  • The ideal candidate has excellent communication and telephone skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and can interact with the public in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Duties
The Assistant General Manager works in conjunction with the General Manager in support of the leadership functions of the resort. This full-time position will provide leadership for all of the hotel employees and the services provided. The Assistant General Manager is expected to maintain a high level of integrity, service and hospitality at all times. 

 

Compensation

The wage is dependent on experience, not less than $38,000 annually, vacation pay, and extended health and dental benefits. There are additional benefits such as meal discounts, hotel room discounts.

Job Duties

  • Fluent in the English language (written and verbal)

  • Operates the department within given cost controls.
  • Requires the ability to follow and give directions (verbal and written).
  • Requires the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Requires the completion of high school or equivalency.

Duties:

  • Maintain and improve upon hotel guest rooms and additional public areas by performing routine maintenance jobs and repairs;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pool and hot tub mechanical issues.
  • Perform hotel room repair activities. (I.e. handrails, walls, doors, flooring etc.)
  • Perform heavy lifting (i.e. move heavy furniture, remove scrap and debris)
  • Perform painting, snow removal, and light landscaping
  • Maintain positive communication with the hotel General Manager to ensure that tasks are completed
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure friendly professional interactions with hotel guests.

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance or trades experience.
  • A background in electrical and /or plumbing is an asset.
