Scope of Responsibility:

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in business administration, hotel management or related field or an acceptable combination of education/training and/or experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a hotel management capacity.
  • Exhibits the highest level of integrity, sound judgment, resourcefulness, management and confidence.
  • Solid financial skills/experience, including revenue management, inventory management, hotel management systems, basic accounting, payroll and reporting.
  • Demonstrates superior written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills.
  • Skillful in managing high tension situations with diplomacy, tact and patience.
  • Excellent investigative, problem-solving and strategic skills.
  • Flexible and able to respond to unique and complicated situations.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary of $75,000-$85,000 annually based on experience along with a full benefits package including Extended Health and Dental Coverage and MSP premiums paid.

The Housekeeping Supervisorplans, organizes, motivates and controls the housekeeping functions necessary to achieve the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel. Reporting to the General Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor is a working housekeeper role that is also responsible for the supervision of all housekeeping employees. Housekeeping Room Attendants have a great work/life balance and can enjoy a flexible working schedule. We can tailor your hours between another job, school and your childcare schedule.

Job Duties

  • Performs guest room housekeeping duties, laundry functions and cleans public areas on a regular basis.
  • Trains and motivates housekeeping and laundry personnel.
  • Collaborates with maintenance staff.
  • Schedules personnel to provide timely service at the hotel in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Organizes the daily functions and duties of the housekeeping department.
  • Maintains and conducts regular inventories of all supplies and equipment.
  • Inspects quality of linens and advises the General Manager on purchasing requirements.
  • Inspects guest rooms and public areas to ensure quality assurance.
  • Conducts staff meetings in conjunction with General Manager.
  • Monitors and trains with cleaning products to improve efficiencies.
  • Maintains and oversees the required process to ensure regular deep cleaning and preventive maintenance.

General Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Fluent in the English language (written and verbal)
  • Requires ability to select, train, evaluate, motivate and discipline as needed.
  • Operates the department within given cost controls.
  • Requires the ability to follow and give directions (verbal and written).
  • Requires the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Requires the completion of high school or equivalency.
  • Requires Level I First Aid within 3 months of start date.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Experience

  • 2 years minimum experience in a housekeeping role.
  • Requires minimum 1-year experience in supervising others an asset.
  • Six months of commercial housekeeping or maintenance experience is preferred.

Compensation

This is a permanent part time position that offers a flexible schedule of 16 hours per week giving you opportunity to ride when the conditions are good at the hill!

Duties:

  • Maintain and improve upon hotel guest rooms and additional public areas by performing routine maintenance jobs and repairs
  • Maintain positive communication with the hotel General Manager to ensure that tasks are completed as required
  • Demonstrate effective and timely interaction with all hotel departments and positively impact the guest experience by effectively and efficiently resolving maintenance concerns
  • Troubleshoot and resolve sauna and hot tub mechanical issues
  • Perform hotel room repair activities. (I.e. handrails, walls, doors, flooring etc.)
  • Perform heavy lifting (i.e. move heavy furniture, remove scrap and debris)
  • Perform painting, snow removal, cleaning gutters, sweeping parking lot
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times with a commitment to working safely

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance experience within a hotel or multi-unit building is an asset.
  • Above average communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A Pool Operators Certificate and a background in electrical and /or plumbing is an asset.
