Sales and Catering Coordinator

SALES & CATERING COORDINATOR - Prestige Hotels and Resorts, Vernon

The Sales & Catering Coordinator at Prestige Hotels & Resorts is responsible for ensuring that all details for meetings, events & groups at the hotel are organized. This role is key to support the growth of business that supports all departments of the hotel. Administrative duties include both meeting/event and group guest rooms bookings, deposits/payments, and banquet event orders.

The Coordinator plays a key role in liaising between the front desk and food & beverage department to ensure that meetings and events are successfully organized and communicated. Reporting to the General Manager, the Coordinator will work closely with the Sales Manager, Catering Department and Guest Services team. The Coordinator is trained in all duties of a Guest Services Agent to ensure a high level of guest services for all clients.

Duties:

·        Oversee the daily requirements of catering, meeting, event and groups clients.

·        Daily interaction with catering clients, responding to local client inquiries.

·        Planning and follow up on contract/service agreements issued by the Sales Manager.

·        Client leads research for the Sales Manager.

·        Coordinate meeting/event bookings and group hotel rooms.

·        Ensure deposit and payments schedules are executed.

·        Accounts receivables monitoring for meeting/event accounts.

·        Post meeting/event follow up.

·        Preparation of banquet event orders. (BEO)

·        Regular communication with the Executive Chef and Catering Department to review BEO’s,

·        Provide front desk service as required.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

·        Excellent command of the English language

·        Ability to relate to the public in a warm, friendly and professional manner

·        Requires ability to give attention to detail and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently

·        Superior telephone skills

·        Computer literacy

·        Previous experience in Event Coordination or in Hotel Guest Services is preferred

·        Strong communication and decision-making skills

·        Flexibility with scheduling (weekend and/or evening hours)

·        Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment

·        Neat and tidy appearance as this position deals with the public.

·        Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Compensation:

·        Salary of $30,000 to $32,000 based on your experience + gratuities

The Night Auditor is a key member of the Guest Services Team; responsible for the overnight operations of the resort, from 11 pm to 7 am and will verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues, as well as assisting with all aspects of guest services.

Maintenance Attendant

Maintenance Attendant

Don’t mind getting your hands dirty? This is the job for you. Prestige Beach House is hiring a Maintenance Attendant to maintain and fix amenities of guest rooms and common spaces of the hotel.

This is a part time position that offers a flexible schedule of 16 - 24 hours per week.

Duties:

  • Maintain and improve upon hotel guest rooms and additional public areas by performing routine maintenance jobs and repairs;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pool and hot tub mechanical issues.
  • Perform hotel room repair activities. (I.e. handrails, walls, doors, flooring etc.)
  • Perform heavy lifting (i.e. move heavy furniture, remove scrap and debris)
  • Perform painting, snow removal, and light landscaping
  • Maintain positive communication with the hotel General Manager to ensure that tasks are completed
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance or trades experience.
  • A background in electrical and /or plumbing is an asset.
  • Must be physically fit, with the ability to perform heavy lifting.
  • Previous painting experience.
  • BC Driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation

  • Wage not less than$17 per hour
