Welcome to the Prestige Hudson Bay Lodge, where the rugged landscape of Northern British Columbia meets relaxed, modern comfort.
Originally built in 1981, the property became a member of the Prestige Hotels and Resorts family in 2015. Since then, we’ve updated the property to the Prestige standard.

Hotel Amenities
Concierge Services and bike, sporting equipment and board game rentals– Contact Guest Services to borrow our complimentary sporting equipment, bikes, and board games or inquire about local attractions, tours and restaurants.
Sundry Items – If you have forgotten any hygiene items (toothpaste, brush, comb, etc.), please ask at the front desk.
Conventions, Meetings and Special Events – Events & Catering Coordinator dial 405
Fitness Studios – One Cardio Studio and one Weight Studio. Located on the lower level. Must be 19 or older. Fitness Studios are open 5am-11pm.
Ice – Located on the main level, at the intersection of the hotel wings.
Soft Drink Vending Machines – Located on the main floor, at the intersection of hotel wings.
Coin Laundry – Located on the main level. Coin laundry is open from 7 am to 10 pm daily.
Security – For the safety of our guests and employees, the hotel uses security cameras in public areas. The security cameras are not monitored by personnel. Access to recordings is restricted and managed in accordance with privacy standards. Our parking lot and grounds are monitored by the Treasure Cove Casino security 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Please remove all valuables from your vehicle, including bikes. As our parking lots are accessible to the general public, we cannot be held responsible for stolen items.

Hudson Bay Mountain Resort
The Hudson Bay Mountain Resort is a 30 minute drive from the hotel. With over 300 acres of skiable terrain and over 500 meters of lift accessed vertical, our local ski hill is a great option for all skill levels.
Bulkley Valley Museum
The Bulkley Valley Museum is a 3 minute drive from the hotel. Learn about the natural and human history of Smithers and the surrounding Bulkley valley.
Twin Falls/Glacier Gulch Trails
The Twin Falls recreational site is a 12 minute drive from the hotel. Experience the beauty of northern BC with one of its most easily accessible waterfalls. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, you’ll find access to further trails like the one to Crater Lake!

The Smithers Brewing Co. is a 4 minute drive from the hotel. Our local craft brewery is a great place to go if you want to experience local flavours and vibes.

Frequently Asked Questions
- When is checkout time?
11 am. Contact Guest Services by 10 am if you wish to stay an additional night or extend your checkout time. All checkouts after 11 am are subject to an additional charge.
- What if I wish to have privacy during my stay?
While we are pleased to accommodate your request for privacy during your stay, for your safety and comfort, it is our policy to check each guestroom once every 24 hours. Should you wish to have privacy, please turn on your indicator and contact Guest Services to inform us of a more convenient time to service your room.
- Can I digitally tip housekeeping?
Yes, you can! While it’s totally optional, we understand that many of our guests like tipping our housekeeping staff directly and now you can do it digitally!
- Can I have visitors in my room?
In the interest of all registered guests, parties are not permitted in guestrooms, and maximum room capacities must be followed at all times (max of two adults for every one bed in the guest room). Non-registered guests are not permitted in guestrooms after 10 pm.
- Is there free WiFi?

- Is my room non-smoking?
We are pleased to provide a smoke-free environment. A minimum $300 per incident cleaning fee will be applied to your account for smoking in your guestroom(s), guest balcony(s), anywhere inside the building, or in contravention of the BC Tobacco Control Act – Section 2.3 (1)b which specifies that a person cannot hold lighted tobacco or be smoking tobacco or other substances (cannabis, vapes, or other inhalants) within 6 meters of a doorway, window, or intake vent. The fee will be used to restore the room to the original quality level.
- Does my room have a smoke or CO detector?
Yes, your room is equipped with alarms for smoke and carbon monoxide. Should either alarm sound, evacuate your room immediately. Please review the safety card in the top drawer of the bedside table or by clicking the link below.
- Does the Prestige Hudson Bay Lodge Smithers allow dogs?
For guests with furry friends, we have a limited number of designated dog-friendly guestrooms. A fee of $30 per night applies; ask us about long-term stay fees. A maximum of two dogs weighing less than 80 lbs (per dog) are permitted in each designated dog-friendly room. Guests allowing dogs or any other pets in a non-designated room will be charged a fee and asked to remove the pet from the guestroom. Disposable plastic bags and dog beds are available upon request.
