JoeAnna's House

A home-away-from home

JoeAnna’s House

The Huber family, founders of Prestige Hotels & Resorts, dreamed of creating a lasting legacy to honour Josef and Anna Huber. In partnership with the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation—and thanks to the generosity of thousands of donors across the province and country—this dream became a reality with the opening of JoeAnna’s House in 2018.

Since then, JoeAnna’s House has welcomed over 2,900 families from more than 300 BC Interior communities, providing over 28,000 overnight stays. It offers affordable and comfortable accommodations for loved ones of patients receiving care at Kelowna General Hospital. The 20-room facility includes shared kitchens, dining spaces, a children’s playroom, an exercise room, a consultation room, and more—all designed to create a supportive and home-like environment during challenging times.

Now, with demand continuing to grow and a constant waitlist of families in need, plans are underway to expand JoeAnna’s House. A new $5.3 million fundraising campaign led by the KGH Foundation will support the addition of 10 more guest rooms, helping to ensure fewer families are turned away during their time of need.

We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the original campaign or volunteered their time to make JoeAnna’s House possible. The facility continues to rely on public donations for its operating costs and its future growth.

To support the expansion of JoeAnna’s House, we encourage you to donate directly or participate in one of our annual fundraising initiatives, such as Good Lemonade Day or the Paper Ornament Sale during the holiday season. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference for families going through some of life’s most difficult moments.
