PRESTIGE MOUNTAIN RESORT ROSSLAND

Explore Like a Local.

Tucked high in the Monashee Mountains, Rossland is a small town with big personality. Once a booming gold rush destination, it’s now known as one of BC’s best alpine escapes. While the mining days are long gone, the spirit of adventure remains—on the trails, in the powder, and at every cozy café and buzzing brewery.

Whether you’ve come to chase the heart-pounding vertical at RED Mountain or soak in the slower pace of Kootenay life, Rossland offers something special in every season. Bike legendary singletrack in the summer, snowshoe to art-covered cabins in the winter, and raise a glass of something local year-round—this is where rugged meets refined, and where you just might find yourself wanting to stay for good.

HOW TO GET HERE

Rossland is located in the West Kootenay region, just 10 km north of the U.S. border, approximately 3.5 hours from Kelowna International Airport and a 30‑minute drive from West Kootenay Regional Airport in Castlegar. You can also fly daily between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and nearby Trail Airport (YZZ) aboard Pacific Coastal Airlines flights—an easy and scenic alternative. Stay up-to-date with road and travel conditions via DriveBC.

WINTER ACTIVITES

Obviously, we could talk all day about how Rossland is the best stop on the powder highway, did we mention that we won 1st place in PowderMagazine’s “Ski Town Throwdown”? There’s so much more than just amazing downhill skiing and snowboarding here, we have so much to boast about! Black Jack Cross Country Ski Club has 40kms of professionally groomed trails for cross country enthusiasts. Snowshoers will love the 16 unique, stylish, funky, cabins (with custom artwork), scattered around Strawberry Pass. We’re the mountain biking capital of BC all year round, that’s something we take seriously, with many trails for fat biking.

ARTS & CULTURE

Many artists call Rossland home, and many more come to visit for inspiration. If you’re looking for theatrical entertainment, check out the Gold Fever Follies and/or the Rossland Light Opera Players.

In the summer check out our farmers market downtown, in the winter it moves inside of the Miners Hall. You never know what local artisan work you will find alongside some fresh, local food!

FOOD & DRINK

Obviously, our favorite restaurant in town is Gabriella’s Restaurant located at the Prestige Mountain Resort Rossland, but if you’ve already visited them and want to try out another great local eatery, you’ll be impressed with Rossland’s caliber of dining options.
