SUMMER ADVENTURE
Kamloops is every mountain bikers dream. With its rugged landscape and rolling hills, it is perfect for any skill level. Enjoy wide open grasslands, fragrant sagebrush, and ponderosa pine forests as you hike through deep gorges, sandstone canyons, and chiseled hoodoos. Take in the shoreline or cliff side views from one of our many golf courses.
WINTER ADVENTURE
Winter doesn’t have to slow you down. The area is full of trails for winter hiking, winter biking, and snow shoeing. Kamloops has indoor and outdoor skating rinks, and many lakes in the area that you can skate on. Speaking of frozen lakes, the ice fishing opportunities are abundant. Looking for something a little faster paced? Kamloops is only 45 minutes away from Sun Peaks Resort, Canada’s second-largest ski area.
ARTS & CULTURE
The word Kamloops comes from the Secwepenc word Tk’emlúps, meaning “where the rivers meet” and refers to the convergence of the North and South Thompson rivers. There are many Secwepenc education resources in Kamloops, including guided snowshoe tours, the Kweseltken Farmers’ and Artisan Market, and the Secwepemc Museum & Heritage Park. Be sure to check out the Kamloops art gallery, or take a self guided walking tour of the back alley art gallery in downtown Kamloops.
FOOD & DRINK
Obviously, our favourite restaurant is Isagani, located at the Prestige Kamloops Hotel, but if you’ve already visited them and want to try something new, you won’t have to look far!
