As the name may suggest, the Beach House is a holiday destination to help get you out of the mundane routine and away for some much-needed R+R, fun and excitement. The beach-themed decor throughout the property and guestrooms helps get you into vacation mode and ready for some time away.

With beautifully-designed guestrooms, a swimming pool and hot tub, fitness centre, and the West Coast Grill Kelowna restaurant on-site, you have everything you need for a flop and drop kind of vacation. While you can certainly get your rest at the property, maintaining your zen is simple if you do wish to wonder out. With the Beach House’s central location, situated directly across from Kelowna’s famous Hot Sands Beach and just two blocks from the main downtown hub, it is the ideal location to explore many of the amazing and unique attractions Kelowna has to offer. We have therefore compiled a list of suggested activities to do during your stay but be warned, it may entice you to extend your stay!

1. Explore downtown:
The downtown core of Kelowna is at your footsteps when staying with us at the Prestige Beach House Resort. A short five-minute stroll will have you at the heart of Kelowna where your adventures can begin. We have added a short list of our favourite spots to visit while in downtown Kelowna:

Admire and take a photo at the iconic ‘Kelowna Sails’ which is located on the waterfront at the corner of Bernard Avenue and Abbott Street.

Visit Stuart Park. A great spot to hangout and soak in the waterfront atmosphere. During winter, a large ice-skating rink is created in the centre of the park. Outdoor string lights, music, and warm fire pits surround the rink creating a delightful ambience. The best thing is it’s completely free to use the rink so make sure to bring along your ice skates but they are also available for hire at the rink.

In the warmer months, borrow the complimentary cruiser bikes that the Beach House offers and take a ride along the beautiful waterfront boardwalk stopping at either Hot Sands Beach or Tugboat Bay for a dip in the lake.

If there is one thing Kelowna is known for, it’s for the amazing wineries that are available in the region. With 200+ wineries, you are in for a treat finding your favourite. Enjoy taste-testing some classics and blends that are unique to the region. Some vineyards offer an on-site restaurant accompanied with breathtaking views over the vineyards and the Okanagan Lake for an elevated experience. Alternatively, let someone else do the planning and driving for you and book a wine tour. Check out some of our Prestige wine tour Rewards Partners who offer savings for Prestige Reward Members. 3. Pick your own fresh fruit

Kelowna has a teeming number of orchards producing all types of fresh fruit during the summer including peaches, apples, nectarines, apricots, blueberries, grapes and cherries. It is not uncommon to drive passed a fruit stand or a “u-pick” sign while exploring Kelowna. Our recommendation is to spend a morning loading a basket of fresh fruit and enjoying them on the beach later that day.

4. Take a hike

There are several trails and mountains, long and short, easy and hard to choose from that are just a short distance from downtown. The closest being Knox Mountain. A popular spot with locals, the mountain is known for hiking, biking and dog walking. It is up to you on which trail to hike but if you’re up for a challenge, the “Knox your Sox Off” is a distinguished trail while the “Paul’s Tomb Trail” is a much more scenic stroll.

5. Get out on the lake
Weather and season permitting, you have to get out on the Okanagan Lake! There are a few options to experience the lake:

Enjoy a boat tour and the views of downtown from a different perspective with Okanagan Rent-A-Boat Ca Inc. or Okanagan Beach Rentals (note these are both Prestige Rewards Partners who will provide you with a special offer when signing up to our Rewards Program).
