Welcome to the Trails Capital of B.C! The Regional District of North Okanagan and Ribbons of Green Trails Society have officially awarded Vernon with this title for it’s trail density and quality. With three beautiful lakes, and peaceful rolling hills, Vernon is a spectacular place to be! The Greater Vernon area consists of Vernon, Silver Star Mountain Resort, the District of Coldstream, the Village of Lumby, and Lavington.

Grab a hot drink in downtown Vernon and walk along the quaint city streets. Take a guided tour of the K’nmalka Senqâlten (Kalamalka Indigenous Garden) at Okanagan College, led by a syilx guide who will share insights into traditional plant life and its cultural significance to his people. Go swimming in Kalamalka Lake’s jewel toned waters, or go Ogopogo spotting at Okanagan Lake. With Kin Beach and Kal Beach only a 13 minute drive from each other, why not go to both lakes in one day! If you’ve come for ski season, Silver Star Mountain Resort is sure to impress.

HOW TO GET HERE

If you’re flying into YLW Airport in Kelowna, Vernon is just a 29 minute drive north. Make sure you check DriveBC for current road conditions and closures.
