As the days get a little longer and the air gets a little warmer, perhaps you occasionally begin to fantasize about taking a little break? There’s a name for that, isn’t there? There sure is… SPRING BREAK!
We at Prestige Hotels and Resorts truly believe you deserve a bit of downtime this spring. Taking recent world events into consideration, traveling abroad is out of the question for most, so we’ve put together a list of some great places to visit and fun things to right here in BC over spring break that is safe, fun, and won’t break the bank!
How about celebrating spring on the island?
If the warmer, mild climate of Vancouver Island appeals to you, our very own Prestige Oceanfront Resort Sooke is smack-dab in the middle of all kinds of fun things to do this spring. Sooke is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the stunning beauty of the ocean and be pampered, or to get out there and explore the island! Here’s a roundup of some of our favourite spring activities in Sooke:
Vancouver Island’s only canopy zipline tour, AdrenaLine, officially opens March 13th. Marvel at the beauty of the island from up in the trees – and have a blast while doing it!
Always popular, people come from all over the world to see the majestic orcas that roam BC’s coastline. Whales can be spotted year-round, but aren’t always a guarantee in the spring because that’s when they begin to slowly migrate back up the coast. Adventures by HIP Whale Watching and Sooke Whale Watching are the best at what they do – and they say to always call ahead to find out the very best times for a tour and to reserve your spot.
Feel the excitement of fishing out on the ocean! Sport fishing wild salmon and even halibut can result in catches weighing in from 50 to 300+ pounds! Fishing adventures are available all year, but again, it’s always best to call ahead to ensure the best possible experience. Talk to Al at Reel Excitement Fishing Charters, or Tory at Going Coastal Fishing Charters to book your fishing adventure.
One of the greatest aspects of the Prestige Oceanfront Resort Sooke is the fact that it’s surrounded by amazing beaches and trails that can be explored all year long! Highly recommended by the locals, Avatar Grove is a beautiful old-growth forest nearby. Danielle from Prestige also says to be sure to stop in at Shirley Delicious café for a bite to eat on the way!
A staycation sounds nice…
Having a mini-vacation in your hometown is an inexpensive and stress-free way to unwind. Keeping travel time to a minimum and simply enjoying the amenities of one of our hotels or resorts can be just what the doctor ordered. Many of our properties have on-site restaurants, pools, hot-tubs, spas, and even arcades and waterslides! Dog-friendly rooms are also available at most locations – so no one needs to be left behind!
Prestige Radium Hot Springs Resort has a great bed and breakfast package that includes one night’s accommodation and breakfast. Even though the Radium hot pools themselves are closed for renovations, there are plenty of on-site amenities to enjoy such as the pool, hot tub, and spa.
The Prestige Treasure Cove Hotel Prince George has many desirable features, including an on-site restaurant, casino, swimming pool, waterslide, hot tub and fitness centre, adding to the enjoyment of the entire family.
The Prestige Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre is well known for its incredible central atrium, which features hundreds of plants, a pool, hot tub and restaurant. The fact that there’s an actual river running through the hotel just adds to the lush, tropical atmosphere.
The Prestige Harbourfront Resort Salmon Arm’s location allows for peaceful, gorgeous lakefront views and plenty of amenities at your fingertips. Restaurants, a pool, hot tub, spa, fitness centre, hair salon, and even an arcade ensures there’s something for everyone!
Nestled on the coast of Northern BC, there are many things waiting to be discovered in Prince Rupert. The Prestige Prince Rupert Hotel offers an airport shuttle and a complimentary daily deluxe breakfast buffet with a hot waffle bar for added convenience and enjoyment. A short stroll to Prince Rupert’s Inner Harbour, there are plenty of local attractions, events, shops, and of course natural scenic beauty to take in.
The bottom line is that no matter what you decide to do over spring break, Prestige Hotels and Resorts has plenty of great options across BC for a fun, relaxing, or adventurous getaway!
Did you know…?
Booking directly with Prestige (by phone, email, or on our website) provides a lot of extra perks compared to using one of the big online travel websites… and don’t worry – you won’t pay extra!
We are committed to offering the same rates on our website as you will find elsewhere online. If for some reason you do happen to find a lower rate elsewhere online, just give us a call, tell us where you found it, and we will gladly match it!
In addition to price-matching, the following perks are even more reason to book direct with Prestige:
- Receive a more personalized, hassle-free booking experience. We’ll be able to advise you on what room type will suit your needs best, and we’ll be able to make special notes within your guest profile to ensure you receive everything you’ve requested.
- You’ll be eligible to receive Prestige Rewards or Aeroplan Miles when you book direct! Unlike travelers who book on another site, you will earn points or Aeroplan Miles on every stay.
- Guests who book direct are more likely to be upgraded into a larger room, or one with a better view. It’s just another way we reward our direct-bookers.
- Need to cancel your stay? It’s so much easier if you booked direct! Simply give the hotel a call, and it’s done. No hoops to jump through or additional website companies to contact.
So the next time you stay, be sure to book on our website or call us at 1-87-PRESTIGE and take advantage of all the perks that you’re entitled to.
