21st Annual Spring Okanagan Wine Festival Kicks Off Next Week

We all know the Okanagan is a hub for world class wines. People come from all over the world just to sample some of the Okanagan’s finest wines.

The Okanagan has wine festivals every season, and the 21st Annual Spring Okanagan Wine festival is taking place next week (April 30-May 10). This is an event that you won’t want to miss!

Some of the Signature Events this year include the popular event Sip into Sunset at Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Oyster Bar and Happy Hour at Summerhill Pyramid Winery, the Spring WestJet Wine Tastings in Kelowna, Foodie Fridays at Spierhead Winery, Amuse Bouche at Kelowna FabFive Wineries, and many more. You can check out everything happening at the festival on the Okanagan Wine Festivals’ event page.

This incredible event originally took place to spread awareness of the wine industry in the Okanagan Valley. The success of this festival did just that, and now has garnered a following not only from B.C. residents, but from wine fanatics all around the world.

In 1994, the Wine Festival was ranked as one of the Top 100 Events in North America by the American Tourism Association. The festival has also maintained this ranking for the past 20 years by the American Bus Association. That same year was when the first Spring Okanagan Wine Festival was introduced. It allowed two events to occur at the start and end of the growing season, which is beneficial for wine tourism.

Since this festival has been an enormous success for the past 20 years, it now has events in the shoulder season for tourism. These events have also been popular with wine lovers.

Tickets for 21st Annual Spring Okanagan Wine Festival are available at the Okanagan Wine Festivals’ website. To create your own wine story, you can use their Twitter hashtag #SpringOKWineFest, or check out updates about the event via their Facebook and Instagram accounts.
