10 Family Friendly Indoor Activities in Kelowna


When winter starts to reach its end, it can be a bit too rainy and dreary to do many of the outdoor activities we love. Luckily, Kelowna is geared up for family-friendly indoor activities too. There are quite a few to choose from, and a number of great locations, making it hard to boil it down to just 10! This list is merely a suggestion that includes various different activities for families with young kids and/or youth.

1) H2O Adventure & Fitness Centre

One of the best aquatic and fitness centres in the Okanagan, The H2O Centre (as it is referred to locally) is your destination for a good splash indoors. With waterslides, a mini splash park, wave pool, lazy river, hot tubs, training pool, diving boards, flowrider® (surf wave) and assorted floaties to borrow, you might make this stop a full day excursion. This is not your average bowling alley! With cosmic bowling offered at a minimal upgrade cost and food service right at your lane tables, your next 10 pin game with the family has got to be here! 3) Scandia Golf and Games

This place has plenty of activities in the winter (and even more in the summer). Spend time testing your skills and playing for prizes at one of the many games in the arcade OR try your hand at a round of mini golf in the newly renovated indoor Jungle Golf course. 4) Kelowna VR Games | Escape Room & VR Arcade

Check out one of the hottest trends in indoor activities right now in Kelowna: Virtual Reality games! Take on hoards of terrifying zombies, challenge robots in futuristic sports, or play virtual paintball. There’s quite an amazing variety of games to be played. Bring your socks and be prepared for a day of endless fun. If you and the kids are going stir crazy and need to let out a little bit of energy, this is the place to do it. There are so many activities to do here that your kids will be occupied for hours. Activities include a trampoline, climbing wall, Ballistix, craft + movie corner, laser tag, Cube and MORE! 6) Cineplex Cinemas Orchard Plaza

7) E-Exit Kelowna | The Ultimate Escape Room Experience

As far as escape rooms are concerned, E-Exit is one of the best. Challenge your wits and skill in an assortment of themed games. You will want to book ahead as spots fill up fast.

8) Planet Lazer | Kelowna

9) Gneiss Climbing Wall

When the real thing is too wet or difficult, this is where you go to learn and hone your skills for your next adventure. With climbing walls and challenges for every age group and skill level, this is one climbing gym worth checking out.

10) Axe Monkeys

A great place to take out some frustrations on a target-painted stump. Scored a lot like darts, you can make an afternoon of axe throwing into a bit of a friendly competition. Good family fun with a bit of an “edge” for ages 7 and up. Check out their website.
